Utsunomiya is a small town in Japan. 2 hours by train from Tokyo. My friend, Tamiko, said that Utsunomiya is famous with its gyoza.
It's actually Chinese dumpling, made from minced pork, finely chopped Chinese cabbage, leek, and garlic, then mixed and wrapped on a soft, thin round shell made from flour and water.
It can be grilled, boiled, or fried.
So... that night, I walked down from my hotel to this gyoza restaurant nearby. I ordered 1 small portion of grilled gyoza & ramen). It's very tasty ... more delicious than dumpling in MTA. (ato karena lapar yaa??? hehe...)
(Gyoza 1 porsi 380 Y/ 6 biji, mie 500 Y)
Anyway, the recommended one is actually Minmin gyoza. You can find it near JR Utsunomiya Station. Too bad I didn't have time to try it.
Psstt... tau ga? Saking terkenalnya gyoza di Utsunomiya, sampe ada patung gyoza di deket East main entrance JR Station Utsunomiya. Ck ck ck...
